Daily Challenge

Give Love

Today’s challenge will be a little different. It is both a challenge and request.. a plea. As a resident of the Las Vegas area, last night was a traumatic event to witness.

There are a couple ways to help and I would like to encourage everyone to help in some way.

  • There is a Go Fund Me set up for the victims and their families. You can donate at https://www.gofundme.com/dr2ks2-las-vegas-victims-fund
  • Even if you are not in the area, donating blood is an amazing gift you can give to your community. Please visit your local blood donation center and donate! People often give during times of tragedy, but if you could make a routine of giving every few months, that really helps.

This event will stir up a lot of politics, arguments, and hate. Yes, it’s good to have conversations on how we can make our world safer, but often during times like these we just want someone to blame. We want somewhere to point our anger, confusion, and sadness. I try to stay away from national news channels – already last night they were trying fill the time between getting updates, so they just brought up unnecessary opinions and unrelated drama. Try to get your news without listening to the extra blabber. I know, it’s hard.

Give your family and friends a hug today. Give someone you don’t know a hug today. It is a good day to remember that life is fragile. It can be easily taken away from us. For many people last night, life was taken from them and it is devastating. Also remember that violence like this happens around the world every day. Our fellow humans are being killed for no reason other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Please send a prayer out to all of those in the world affected by violence.

You may feel like you can’t do much to help. You may not have money to give, but everyone has love to give. So give your love freely to those around you. Give love without judgement. Give love without condition. There will be a time for anger and a time for judgement, but today is the time for love.
